      "Convergence" Live In-Studio Recording

Join “Convergence” for a live in-studio recording session Convergence is dedicated to the idea of sharing the intimacy and the spark of improvised music with their audience. Be a part of this very special evening as the group records a new set of original music. See the creative process in action, and when you listen back to the recording you’ll say “that’s my hands all over that record that I dug down at Mighty Fine.” For over 25 years, the long time friendships and musical connections between the members of this sextet has allowed them to create original music that is fresh, creative and exciting. Maria Schneider writes, “Convergence is phenomenal. It's a rare treat to hear a small group play compositions and arrangements that are so rich in ideas and formal development. Their pieces are wonderfully original and leave beautiful space to feature every musician in a unique way, and each musician is truly unique and extraordinary. I can't say enough about this group.” “They achieve a groove sought by many but seldom found” – Ira Gitler “Swinging cats, each and everyone! – Nicholas Gregory Convergence is: Greg Gisbert - trumpet, John Gunther - sax, Mark Patterson - trombone, Eric Gunnison - piano, Mark Simon - bass, Paul Romaine - drums. The music performed will be released as the next CD.   Doors open at 3:30. The session starts at 4:00. No entry after the session begins. Bring a beverage if you’d like! $20 for admission plus you will receive a digital recording of the event
