      EVENT DETAILS
      Mountain Meteorology with Chris Tomer

Weather is the most important factor to consider when planning a trip into the Mountains. Meteorologist Chris Tomer explores the nuts and bolts of mountain weather patterns. This presentation is designed for everyone including mountaineers, mountain bikers, cyclists, fly fisherman, campers, rock climbers, skiers, snowboarders, ranchers, and rafters. Tomer uses real-world examples including new findings from his groundbreaking project, Sleeping on the Summits: Colorado Fourteener High Bivys with Dr. Jon Kedrowski. Together they slept on the summit of all 55 Colorado 14ers from sunset to sunrise in 95 days. Tomer and Kedrowski climbed in the afternoons during the stormiest part of each day in order to make the summits before sunset. Tomer is also providing detailed weather forecasts for Dan Mazurs' Summit Climb expedition in the Himalayan Mountain Range.
